E-info & PIP are not supported when running ON Microsoft Exchange Server.

E-info, PIP, and other web site add-on products can use the same web server.

ASP.NET must be enabled.

The web server must be able to access the e-automate SQL server over TCP/IP.

It is not recommended to use your SQL Server as your web server.

These add-ons require an external facing IP address with a DNS entry to resolve to that IP address, typically as a sub-domain (e.g., service.mycompany.com/e-info). Please consult a network professional for assistance in configuring these requirements.

If DTF is purchased, you can choose to install and run DTF on the SQL server or on a separate application server or workstation. DTF cannot be installed on an Exchange server.

E-agent now operates as a set of system services. In a default installation, the necessary architecture is installed as part of the e-automate server installation and no additional application install is necessary.  

On-Premise Users: If you plan to use faxing with e-agent, then a fax modem can be installed on a separate computer. The separate computer must include:

On-Premise Users: If you plan to use e-agent with multiple databases, contact support for additional requirements.

You can access the e-agent configuration screens under the Tools menu in the e-automate client application. This will launch your system default browser. The minimum default browser requirements for e-agent are: latest versions of Chrome (preferred browser), FireFox, and Internet Explorer (IE) 11. Note that if your system default browser does not meet the minimum system requirements for e-agent, you will need to manually access the target URL using a supported browser or upgrade your system default browser.

An important element of maintaining a high-performing information system is regular upgrades and rotation of servers and workstation hardware. Information technology experts recommend upgrading workstations on a 3-year cycle. In addition, for best cost and performance, you’ll want to upgrade a portion of your hardware every year, rotating existing workstations down the chain and eliminating the lowest performing machines. This effectively gives most of your operation an upgrade in performance every year, and minimizes the need for bulk PC purchases. The security and integrity of your data is your responsibility. Please create a regular backup and maintenance schedule to ensure your data can be recovered in the event of a system failure. Please ensure that your network components (including SQL Server) are up to date in terms of security patches and that you have a firewall system in place.

If you wish to use the automatic emailing functionality found in e-automate, e-agent, e-info, or RemoteTech, you must have access to an SMTP server. This SMTP server can either be from an email service provider or hosted locally on-site. E-automate and related products support SMTP connection either unencrypted or encrypted using explicit (active) SSL (sometimes referred to as TLS or STARTTLS). Implicit (passive) SSL is not supported. If you plan on connecting using encryption, make sure that the server software or email service provider has support for explicit (active) SSL and that it is configured properly.
