After you have configured custom properties with attributes and assigned the configurations to the various areas that can accommodate custom properties, you can then assign values to the attributes you associated with the configuration.
To set custom
properties for an entity in e-automate, navigate to the entity list.
For example, if you are setting custom properties on contracts, click
[Contracts]. E-automate opens the Service Contracts window.
This same rule applies for all entities in e-automate that can accommodate
custom properties.
Double-click
on an entity (Contracts, Customers, Employees, Equipment, GL Accounts,
Inventory Requests, Items, Makes, Models, Purchase orders, RMAs (Returned
Material Authorizations), RTV (Returned to Vendor), Sales orders,
Vendors, or Warehouses) in the list to which you want to add custom
property values. The Edit XXXXX window displays.
Click on the
Custom Properties (or Properties)
tab.
If the Configuration field is not already
populated, use the lookup to select the configuration containing the
attribute(s) you want to add to this entity's record. For each
attribute associated with the selected configuration, the system displays
the attribute's name in the left column and an area for associating
data with this attribute (which may be an entry field, a drop-down
menu, or a set of Yes and
No radio buttons)
For each attribute,
use the entry field, drop-down menu, or radio buttons provided to
specify the appropriate value for this attribute.
Note: If a drop-down
menu is associated with an attribute, you will not see the drop-down
menu icon until you click in the field to the right of the attribute's
name.
Repeat Step
4 for each attribute for which you want to specify a value.
Click [OK].
E-automate adds the values to the custom properties.
Repeat adding
values to attributes until you have populated all necessary values.
