Creating Cash Registers
You use the Cash Registers functionality in e-automate when you configure a workstation to act as a cash register. Before you can use a workstation as a cash register, you must first create a cash register in e-automate. When you are using a workstation as a cash register, you cannot complete any other e-automate functions and can only use that workstation as a cash register.
Getting to the TransactionGetting to the Transaction
From the Sales menu, select Cash Registers to open the Cash Registers window.
Click [New] to open the New Cash Register window.
Basic InformationBasic Information
Enter the appropriate information. See below for field descriptions.
Number: Identification number assigned to the new register.
Name: Name given to the new register.
Undeposited receipts account: General ledger account into which customer payments are received.
Default warehouse: Specified warehouse from which inventory items are to be pulled for transactions recorded using this cash register.
Sales bin: Specific bin within the Default warehouse from which inventory items are to be pulled when using this register.
Return bin: Specific bin within the Default warehouse where returned inventory items are to be placed if returned using this cash register.
Use item bin defaults if set for this warehouse: When checked, e-automate uses the inventory item bin defaults set for any inventory item.
Use bar code numbers: When checked, the computer search default is set for bar codes rather than item numbers during cash register activities.
Select the Use cash drawer with point of sale checkbox.
Consult the documentation sent with the cash register drawer to record the appropriate information in the following fields:
Com port
Baud rate
Parity
Data bits
Stop bits
Open command (not functional at this time)

Click [OK] to save the cash register.
