Creating Departments

Departments are profit and loss centers within your business. All transactions that e-automate performs can be associated with a department. You can run your income statement reports by department and analyze profitability of specific departments.

Getting to the TransactionGetting to the Transaction

From the Accounting menu, select General Ledger Departments to open the Departments window.

Click [New] to open the New Department window.

Basic InformationBasic Information

Complete the following fields where appropriate:

Number: Letter or number code to identify the department.

Name: Name of the department.

Completing the TransactionCompleting the Transaction

Click [OK] to save the department.
