Using E-agent
Rights permitting, you use E-agent to:
Add a task
Edit task settings
Schedule a task
Manually run a task
Delete a task
Refresh the list window
Specify settings for email, task engines, and the activity log
Suspend all e-agent activity
View all configured tasks—regardless of whether a task is active or disabled, running or suspended
Access the online help
When using e-agent, you must leave e-agent running for the scheduled tasks to execute. If for some reason e-agent is shut down, the e-agent tasks do not run. E-agent does not take an e-automate user license.

You use the e-agent toolbar buttons (or the list window's right-click menu) to perform the following tasks:
New: You use this button to create a new e-agent task. You can have as many tasks as you choose as long as each task has a unique name.
Run: You use this button to execute a task immediately. This button ignores the schedule and runs the task.
Delete: You use this button to delete the selected task should you decide to discontinue use of the task.
Refresh: You use this button to update the tasks displayed.
Options: You use this button to access the settings for email, task engines, and the activity log.
Suspend: You use this button to suspend the database so it is not live. When the [Suspend] button is pressed tasks that are scheduled do not run. However, you are able to manually run a task when the database is suspended by highlighting the task in the list and clicking [Run].
Help: You use this button to access e-agent help.
How to View Task Settings in E-agentHow to View Task Settings in E-agent
Locate the task from the list for which you want to view settings.
Click the Edit link in the Action column of the task you want to view. E-agent displays the settings for the selected task.
Make necessary changes.
Click the [OK] button to save the new settings.
