Additional Info – Volume Usage

Volume is used in the following cases:

When an overage contract is setup in e-automate that is configured to do meter group base rates, e-automate uses the volume set on the meters to distribute the calculated base to each equipment/item for revenue, taxation, and branch revenue cost assignment. This is applicable on the first billing in which there is base so the system knows how to distribute those values. If the volumes are not entered, then e-automate divides it equally amongst the equipment/items. Once an overage billing has occurred, the system then can distribute based on actual overage performed on the meters associated with given equipment/items. The system also performs corrections after the overage billing to adjust what was posted wrong in the first base only bill. This could result in tax credits. This correction occurs when the base and the overage cycle intersect. If you are doing quarterly overage billing and monthly base billing when the cycles bill together the corrections occurs.

Volume is used to distribute base rates on equipment/items in Digital Analytics for the first base billing and prior to the first overage billing.

Volume is also used on the actual vs. expected trend report that is installed when Digital Analytics is installed.
