The first choice you make with any new item you are adding to the item list is whether it is an inventory item or an expense item. An item cannot be both. If you sell the same thing you use in the office, you can choose to make two item profiles, one for your internal use to which you assign an expense code and one that you stock and sell to your customers with an inventory code. You can also choose to make only one item and give that item an inventory code. When you use the item internally, expense it by decreasing the inventory quantity.
