Creating Territories
A territory is a geographical location within which an individual technician or a team of technicians may work. You may assign more than one technician to a territory, but only one territory to a technician. Territories are also assigned to equipment. You can assign only one territory to an equipment record.
When using the Dispatch Console, e-automate displays territories to assist you in locating technicians that may be close to your service calls. Territories are also used by e-automate for assigning calls to technicians or in locating a call for an open technician.
Getting to the TransactionGetting to the Transaction
From the Tools menu, select Lists and Codes to open the Lists and Codes window.
In the Select a list or code type field, use the drop-down menu to select Territories.
Click [New] to open the New Territory window.
Basic InformationBasic Information
In the Territory name field, enter the code by which you will designate this territory.
In the Description field, enter a brief description of the territory.
Completing the TransactionCompleting the Transaction
Click [OK] to save the territory.
