Additional Info - Billing Meter Tolerance Rules
E-automate has tolerance rules for which meters are acceptable for contract billing. When entering meters for contract billing, be sure you enter meters within the tolerances set in your e-automate options by your system administrator. e-automate sets a tolerance for the number of days a meter reading can be dated or override dated before the overage cycle start date (Overage from date) as well as the number of days after the overage cycle start date a meter can be dated or override dated. The same is true for ending cycle meters. The billing meter tolerance is the number of days before and after the overage cycle start and the number of days before and after the overage cycle end that meters are acceptable for use in contract billing.
For example, if your options tolerance for Before collection date is 10 and After collection date is six, e-automate will accept a meter dated or override dated within 10 days before the overage cycle start date and up to six days after the overage cycle start date. If there is not a valid meter dated or override dated in this period, e-automate indicates that the contract is missing a meter.
Under the tolerance rules identified above, 10 days before and six days after and your overage billing cycle is 8/15 - 9/14, acceptable readings for the beginning meter would fall in the date range of 8/5 through 8/21 and ending meter would fall in the range of 9/4 - 9/20.
Meters entered that are dated outside the tolerance cannot be used for billing. You can enter meters in the Meter Reading Console. To get to the Meter Reading Console window from the Billing Queue tab, double-click on the contract. You can also use meters entered in e-automate in any appropriate way. If you push meters into the e-automate database using a third-party meter company or the meter spreadsheet, all valid meters that meet the tolerance rules can used for contract billing. If you are using an automated system to push meters, you should configure it to support your tolerance rules.
