Creating Transfer Orders

You use transfer orders in e-automate as an internal ordering mechanism. Transfer orders are similar to purchase orders in that you use them to order inventory items from a vendor. You use the transfer order for ordering items for a specific destination warehouse and bin. You can also identify shipping information on a transfer order should you decide to ship items on a transfer order to a customer or to one of your warehouses.

Transfer orders can be dynamically created in the Inventory Logistics Console or manually created using the Inventory Transfer Orders list window. You can also generate warehouse picking lists from created transfer orders to allow personnel to retrieve inventory items identified on the transfer orders. Ultimately, a transfer order will result in a transfer. Transfer orders can feed the inventory transfer transaction with the necessary information to complete the transfer. Transfer orders must be completed by performing a transfer. This can be automated using the Inventory Logistics Console or the Inventory Management Task.
