E-views Overview
ECI™ E-views™ is a comprehensive data-mining tool that offers instant access to key information in your e-automate database. E-views uses a simple but powerful querying technology to assist you in creating database queries that report on information you have specified. You use e-views to create and save hundreds of custom queries (views). You can easily drill down to more detailed information, instantly jump to related data, and effortlessly export query results to Microsoft Excel® for advanced sorting, filtering, and analysis activities.
Views are sorted into four categories: Favorites, Shared, Corporate, and System. You must have the correct rights to view the different categories and the views themselves.
The System category contains the pre-defined, system views that are included with e-views. You use these views to access a wide range of database information and/or to create other customized views for accessing data. You cannot modify or delete any of the system views.
You can create custom views based on system views that display only the information you want to see. To create a view, you select an existing view that you want to customize. When customizing a view, you can do any of the following:
Specify the columns you want the view to display.
Specify the columns to list in the QuickSearch for filtering the view.
Add or remove functions.
Add or remove linked views.
When you save a custom view, you determine if you want to save the view in your Favorites only, Shared only, Corporate only, Favorites and Shared, or Favorites and Corporate category or categories. When the system saves the new view in the specified category/categories, the system retains the original view on which you based the new view.
In addition to creating new views, you can edit or delete any view you saved in your Favorites, Shared, and/or Corporate categories.
