Creating Activity Codes

You use an Activity code to define the kinds of activities that technicians can perform on service calls, record on time cards and record as unavailable time on the employee record. The Activity code category associated with the Activity code controls where the Activity code can be used.

Getting to the TransactionGetting to the Transaction

From the Tools menu, select Lists and Codes to open the Lists and Codes window.

In the Select a list or code type field, use the drop-down menu to select Activity Codes.

Click [New] to open the Add Activity Code window.

Basic InformationBasic Information

In the Activity code field, enter a name for this activity code.

In the Description field, enter a brief description to further identify this activity code.

In the Category field, use the drop-down menu to select an activity code category for this activity code. The activity code category defines rules for using an activity code in e-automate.

In the Tax as field, use the lookup icon to identify how this activity is taxed.

Check the Responded box if the system should place a blue arrow in the Responded column of the table on the Labor tab of the Invoice Call window when a labor record with this activity code is added to a service call; do not check the Responded box if the system should make no entry in the Responded column of the table on the Labor tab of the Invoice Call window when a labor record with this activity code is added to a service call.

Completing the TransactionCompleting the Transaction

Click [OK] to save the activity code.
